This class is for SWORN Law Enforcement ONLY.
This POST certified presentation gives useful information to law enforcement personnel who have a need to know about MySpace.com and other social networking websites. Those attending will learn how to gain user access, what services are generally available within the websites and other tips and tricks to conduct investigations and use social networking websites (primarily MySpace) as an investigative tool.
This is a tuition free course. Priority will be given to students currently working investigative positions. If you sign-up, please show-up. Once you have registered via email, a confirmation email will be sent to you explaining how to complete the registration process. You may NOT send someone in your place as there is a waiting list for the class. No-shows will be given less priority for future classes and their commands will be notified.
All students will receive a class CD containing search warrants, MySpace LEO guide and other pertinent material from the class. This is a “hands-on” course and students will be navigating through MySpace and other websites.
Basic computer skills are necessary for this class. You must be able to navigate around the Internet.

1.         Definition and history of MySpace.com
2.         Setting up a MySpace account
                        Requirements and lack of age verification
3          CraigsList.org
                        Explanation of website, posting to CraigsList
4.         MySpace personal web pages examples
5.         Components of MySpace
6.         Other Social Networking sites
7.         MySpace as an investigative tool
                        The various methods to search MySpace for information
8.         MySpace LEO Guide, record retention periods
9.         Parental Resources

Class sizes are limited to around 20 students.
